Registered Manager

Debbie Mason
Registered Manager
Debbie Mason has worked in care since 1992 and spending the first five years with the elderly as a carer in nursing homes. Debbie developed her skills and specialised in the care of elderly clients with EMI. Debbie then worked with adults with learning and physical disabilities for 10 years, starting as a carer, then gaining promotion to senior and then Team Leader (Deputy Manager). After studying for and successfully completing her Registered Managers Award and being awarded the Registered Managers Qualification, Debbie returned to working with the elderly in 2008 in senior capacity in a Residential care home.
Debbie joined the management of The Hollies in September 2008 and took over responsibilities as Registered Manager in January 2009, after her credentials and qualifications were approved by the Care Standards Commission. Taking over after the retirement of the previous manager, Debbie has quickly and efficiently undertaken all responsibilities for client care, the well being of our residents and the leadership and organisation of our staff team. She has formed strong dialogue with our client’s and their families and works closely with visiting GP’s, community healthcare professionals and community nurses. She considers her responsibilities for ensuring the rights, dignity and freedom of choice of our clients as paramount, and recognises that a homely, comfortable environment is vital to the well being of our residents, together with the provision of the highest standards of care for them, delivered with appropriate skill, resources and training.
Debbie has continued to develop her own training and skill and has recently been awarded the HSC level 4 Care qualification. She has undergone specialist training in POVA matters, is a manual handling instructor and, having qualified as an NVQ assessor in 2002, Debbie is able to mentor and encourage our staff to follow “best practice”, and to help them appreciate the value of gaining NVQ qualifications and developing their individual skills and knowledge.
